Dogs Are Awesome

An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard; I could tellfrom his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and waswell taken care of. He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep. An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked insideand resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour. This continued off and on for several weeks.Curious, I pinned a note to his collar: 'I would like to find out whothe owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are awarethat almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.'The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned tohis collar: 'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 -he's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow.

Hi Janet,

I love your blog and wanted to share with you a funny video I just made with my dogs--two havanese and one poodle! Hope you like it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dt8Ao2l8hM

If so, please share!!

All the best,

Is Your Havanese Shy??

Your dog might need a boost of confidence. These dogs need you to make them feel safe and secure.

Possible Activiites
1. Take him with you to lots of places... the mall, Home Depot, Lowes.
2. Let lots of people hold him (walk away for a few minutes then come back)
3. Take a class with your dog
4. Let him have lots of play dates
5. Try doggy dog care once a week
6. Many play dates - especially with happy, bold dogs can help a shy dog blossom.
