Puppy Safety Checklist

The following things, many of which seem innocuous, can be deadly to puppies if chewed or ingested, and it is simply astounding what is attractive to them.

1. Houseplants - many are toxic
2. Electrical Cords
3. Electrical Outlets
4. Household Cleaners
5. Sponges
6. Non prescription painkillers (IE Tylenol)
7. Antifreeze - keep puppies out of garage
8. Cellophane
9. Potpurri
10 Sewing Thread
11. Grapes & Raisons
12. Chocolate
13. Onions

Puppy-proof your house before the puppy's arrival, rather than after!!

My friend's dog died due to ingestion of chocolates. Chocolates are very toxic to dogs because they contain components that cannot be digested by the dog's stomach. We must be aware about the safety of everyone in the family including our pets.

Is Your Havanese Shy??

Your dog might need a boost of confidence. These dogs need you to make them feel safe and secure.

Possible Activiites
1. Take him with you to lots of places... the mall, Home Depot, Lowes.
2. Let lots of people hold him (walk away for a few minutes then come back)
3. Take a class with your dog
4. Let him have lots of play dates
5. Try doggy dog care once a week
6. Many play dates - especially with happy, bold dogs can help a shy dog blossom.
